Yummy Apple Pie Recipe

---Yummy Apple Pie---


What You'll Need--
1 box premade room Temperature pie crusts
3/4 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
1/8 Teaspoon of Nutmeg
2 Tablespoons of All purpose flour
1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
1/2 Cup of White Sugar
1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice
Pie Pan
About 6 Large Apples (I've been using Honeycrisp and it turns out really well)


What You'll Do--
(Preheat oven to 400F.)


1. Peel Apples.
Slice apples into thin slices.
Set aside.
2. Mix Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Flour, Salt, and the sugars in a large mixing bowl.
Add Apples and stir well.
3. Unroll One pie crust on dry surface.
Apply one crust to the bottom of the pan Overlapping the edge slightly.
Pinch the edges down.
4. Pour ingredients from mixing bowl on top of first crust.
Spread evenly.
5. Unroll second pie crust on dry surface.
Now is a time to get creative! Use cookie cutters to make perfect designs or use a knife to cut out your own!
Apply your decorated crust on top of the pie filling.
Pinch the edges to keep in place.
6. Bake at 400F for 40-45 minutes.
Let cool for two hours!
And then enjoy, this recipe is sure to be a hit!

Our Family

This is my husband, Ryan, and I. I met Ryan back in 2007 at Tulsa Community College. There was just something about him that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. As soon as we met we became inseparable. We did tons of things together but our favorite was going to Centennial Park which overlooks downtown Tulsa. That's where, on June 18th, 2007, we shared our first kiss! Little did I know 3 years later he would get down on one knee and present me with the most beautiful solitaire diamond ring! We got married a year later on, of course, June 18th! Our first year of marriage has been very tough on both of us. Ryan lost his dear father on December 13th, 2011 and I lost my sweet little Granddaddy on November 23rd, 2011. Both Ryan and I spent a lot of time apart for a few months while he stayed with his dad in the hospital and I stayed with my grandmother. It's been rough, but I'm so glad God brought Ryan to me. If anything the past year has made us stronger both as individuals and as a couple. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him! He's my one and only and I will cherish him forever!

Together, Ryan and I have two fur babies named Trogdor and Daisy! We do not have any kiddos of our own yet but plan on having some within the next few years. We are so excited to look towards the future and what that will bring! Our fur babies are like our children. Trogdor, the kitty to the left, was my first baby I adopted. She's a grey calico and was super cute and colorful as a kitten. She's still my cute, sweet, fluffy bundle of joy! Daisy, the chihuahua to the right, is our newest addition! I got her in February 2011 and she's been a joy to have. She's fairly needy and suffers from a horrible case of anxiety, but luckily we invested in a ThunderShirt and that helps tremendously! We love our little ones and one day hope to add a few babies to the mix!

Tutorial: Skirt

Here's to my first tutorial! YAY! I finally got my sewing machine up and running and my first project was an elastic waistband skirt! This is my second go at this project and it was a big success! So! Here we go!

Step One- Gather your materials.

You will need: Fabric (About 2 yards give or take depending what size you wear. EX:I wear a 16 and I got 2 yards, It made for a fuller skirt), Pins, Thread (to coordinate with the fabric), Elastic (for the waistband), Scissors, Safety Pin (to thread elastic through the waistband pouch), Tape Measurer (Helps measure the length you want your skirt to be, EX: I made my 28 inches long), and a Sewing Machine

Step Two- The Fold and Pin.

Cut fabric to your desired skirt length. Make sure to allot for the hem (1/2") and the Elastic waistband(about 1 1/2" depending on the thickness of your elastic)Fold Fabric in half Like a taco.(Make Sure the fabric facing you is wrong side out.) Notice: there is only one seam to sew!Pin- allotting 1/2" seam allowance.

Step Three- Sew Side Seam

Prepare sewing machine with the appropriate color thread. Take a deep breath 

and SEW! It's a straight line so it's pretty easy, though my first skirt was pretty off! 

HAHA! 

Step Four- Pin Hem and Sew

Pin the hem of the skirt. As with the side, make sure to allot 1/2" for the seam.  Sew as you did before to make your hem!

Step Five- Pinning the elastic Waistband.

Pin around the top of the skirt for the elastic. Depending on the width of your elastic allow 1/2" more. For example, I bought 1" wide elastic. So I allotted room for 1 1/2" for the seam. From the side seam you did in Step Three, Start pinning after 2 inches from either side of the seam. This way you have plenty of room to thread your elastic through.So basically your going to have 4 inches of fabric that is not pinned.

Step Six-Sew Waistband Casing

Like the hem, sew along the top of the skirt. make sure you are allotting room for your elastic. Also make sure you leave the four inches total around the side seam not sewn.

Step Seven- Thread The elastic.

Attach a safety pin to one end of the  elastic. slide through one side of the open fabric and work it through the casing to the other side, It is normal for  bunching and It's actually the desired look on this skirt!

Step Eight- Zig Zag Stitch Elastic.

Using the Zig-Zag Stitch on your sewing machine, 

overlap the two ends of the elastic and put two 

vertical lines of Zig-Zag stitches in it.

Step Nine- Sew Close the Elastic Casing.

Repeat step six on the 4 inches 

of fabric that was not sewn.

Step TEN!- You're Done!!!

Flip skirt Right side out, 

put it on and TWIRL AROUND!!!!
